What's the difference between dedicated hosting (dedicated server) and co-hosting?

  A dedicated server, in Mirweb's terminologie, is a server which Mirweb controls the server all the way down to the operating system.What we mean by "controls" is that Mirweb takes care of all procedures and server material, saves all specified data and that any eventual problem(software and hardware) will by fixed by us. The server belongs to Mirweb and is rented exclusivly to you for the period of time determined by contract.Once the contract reachs the expiration date, you may choose to continue to use the server in its original configuration or renew the contract fter a server update. The system was conceived to be able to administer it from a remote location and different levels of security, setup by Mirweb, can be applied for this.

   What we mean by co-hosting is that we give you some physical space and bandwidth to your disposition in our server center and all the other aspects of our service are under your responsability. A data backup service can be setup if necessary.

  Co-hosted servers can often seem to be a more economical solution. However, in most cases, once the costs for transport and once you count in your time, this solution can become a little more costly then others. Most businesses that remotly host their servers already have a large amount of equipement that they wish to use or ready to use systems that we cant administer or that they don't want us to administer.
